Croatia Advances Digital Power-Grid Technology Through €11.5 Million Transformer Project

On 27 October 2026, HOPS and KONČAR signed an €11.5 million contract excluding VAT for a phase-shifting transformer at the Gračac substation. The technology will enable more precise control of electricity flows and improve grid flexibility, security and integration of renewable energy sources. The project is part of the EU-supported GreenSwitch initiative, creating opportunities for smart-grid technology providers, automation specialists and energy software companies.
